Utility Global and ArcelorMittal Brazil are collaborating on Project Advantage, a first-of-its-kind clean hydrogen initiative at ArcelorMittal’s integrated steel facility in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Project Impact

Project Advantage marks a major milestone in Utility’s mission to decarbonize global steelmaking as the first announced commercial H2Gen® project. By using blast furnace gas from iron making operations to make low-carbon hydrogen from water at one of ArcelorMittal Brazil’s operating facilities, the project demonstrates a scalable pathway to reduce emissions without compromising steel production efficiency or quality. With a targeted output of 3 TPD H2, the H2Gen® system provides an economic route for onsite hydrogen generation and creates a high-purity CO₂ stream that dramatically lowers the cost of carbon capture. The collaboration strengthens ArcelorMittal’s ongoing investment in breakthrough decarbonization technologies and positions Utility Global as a strategic partner in Brazil’s clean energy transition. As the project progresses through engineering and design, it l lays the groundwork for future commercial deployments across ArcelorMittal’s global footprint and the broader steel industry.

Delivering Ultra–Carbon-Negative Hydrogen for California Mobility

Project Champion, located in Central California, is Utility Global’s first commercial project using dairy-biogas to produce hydrogen and a major step in unlocking the carbon-negative hydrogen economy. In partnership with Maas Energy Works (MEW), the nation’s leading dairy digester developer, the project integrates biogas from four dairy farms, currently under contract, into a centralized hydrogen production facility using Utility’s proprietary H2Gen® technology. This system produces fuel-cell-grade hydrogen from water without electricity, achieving an anticipated carbon intensity of –875 gCO₂e/MJ, among the lowest ever recorded for transportation fuels.

Unlocking Korea’s Hydrogen Future Through Biogas Innovation

Frontier Korea, located in Seongnam, South Korea, is Utility’s flagship certification project designed to unlock national investment and accelerate commercial hydrogen deployment across Korea. This advanced demonstration plant integrates municipal wastewater-derived biogas with Utility’s proprietary H2Gen® technology to produce clean hydrogen from water without electricity, while preparing the fuel-cell hydrogen for direct sale and distribution to the proximal local hydrogen fueling stations through on-site compression and distribution, proving end-to-end distributed hydrogen value-chain viability.

Producing up to 40 kg per day, Frontier Korea serves as a comprehensive proving ground for H2Gen®’s certification under Korean Gas Safety standards and establishes the technical, regulatory, and commercial foundation for future nationwide projects.
